Nurture the beat in your feet!  Our award winning faculty, and beautiful new professional Dura-Dance sprung flooring will create the perfect environment to nurture dancers from ages 3 to adult. Irving Ballet School offers a dance style for everyone, from classical ballet to salsa and family style ballroom. Let the joy of classical ballet begin for your child as we introduce them to ballet fundamentals including body alignment, basic ballet technique, terminology and musicality.  Self esteem, discipline and confidence will be nurtured in every student to allow them to flourish to reach their fullest potential as artists.

Paula Morelan

Artistic Director

(Choreographer) She holds a BFA from Texas Christian University and studied with Nathalia Krassovska, Victor Moreno and Fernando Schaffenburg. Past choreography credits have included working with Lake Placid Center for the Arts (NY), Music Theatre of Wichita (Kansas), Kincaid Regional Theatre (Kentucky), WaterTower Theatre, Shakespeare Festival of Dallas, Theatre Three, Dallas Repertory Theatre, Lyric Stage (Irving), Uptown Players, Contemporary Theatre of Dallas, Dallas Children’s Theatre, Plano Repertory Theatre, Collin Theatre, Garland Summer Musicals, and many shows with Garland Civic Theatre and Children On Stage. Ms. Morelan has received several Leon Rabin Awards and The Column Awards for Best Choreography. In addition to Ms. Morelan’s Theatre choreography, she worked with Aerial Works from 1988- 2004, Metroplex Gymnastics June, 2005 – December, 2007, Elite Champion Gymnastics June, 2009 – June, 2012 and Rhythmic Ribbon of Texas working with competitive Elite gymnasts on their Dance Syllabi. In the past Ms. Morelan managed Rosella School of Ballet and Ballet Arts Center form 1974 – 1976 and was Associate Artistic Director of Dance Repertory Theatre of Dallas. In 1976 she opened Ballet Classique and was Artistic Director of the Garland Ballet Association until 1987. She became the Director of the Ballet Division of the Performing Arts School in 1987 through 1990. After performing with Krassovska Ballet Jeunesse and Schaffenburg Ballet Company she began her choreography career in 1983 with Garland Civic Theatre and was resident choreographer from 1988 – 2004. Ms. Morelan is still very active in theatre choreography, teaches Master Classes and workshops throughout the Metroplex. In addition to her choreography credits, she has Co-Produced/Directed “Sweat Box Refugee” Dance Concert since 2013 and Directed/Co-Directed several KD Conservatory Black Box Productions. Ms. Morelan has been with KD Conservatory College of Film and Dramatic Arts (Musical Theatre Dept.) since June 2005. Additionally, Ms. Morelan is on the Faculty of Tuzer Dancentre.
